MMC Group Holding Hellas proudly participated as a Gold Sponsor at the East Med Maritime Conference (EMMC) 2025, held on June 19, 2025, in Athens, Greece. The conference brought together leading figures from the shipping industry, government, and innovation sectors to explore challenges and emerging strategies shaping the future of global maritime.

A key moment of the event was the presentation by Captain Manos Tzimpimpakis, General Manager of GMZ Ship Management part of MMC Group Holding Hellas. His presentation, titled “The Shipping Sector: Geopolitical & Economic Developments – Challenges & Lessons Learned,” addressed the resilience and vulnerabilities of maritime trade, and highlighted decarbonization, maritime workforce development, and strategic adaptability as pillars of future readiness.
The conference welcomed the presence of many distinguished personalities from the maritime sector, including Mr. Stefanos Gkikas, Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, and Mr. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, former Minister of Shipping and current Chairman of Skaramangas Shipyard, who both provided valuable insights on national maritime strategy and the importance of public-private cooperation.
Additionally, Mr. Pantelis Chinakis-Glaras, President & Managing Director of INSB Class, made a significant contribution to the discussions, offering the perspective of classification societies on safety, compliance, and innovation in the evolving maritime landscape.
The event was also honored by the presence of the leadership team of MMC Group Holding Hellas, including Mr. George Zervos, Founder & CEO, Ms. Vera Medawar, Registrar of the International Ship Registry of Togo, and Mr. Richard Medawar, General Manager of MMC Group Holding Hellas.
